The proven, levelled format of SRA Science Laboratory is designed to meet the needs of an entire classroom of learners at all levels. The programme provides diagnostic, instructional and assessment materials in one complete classroom package. Exciting graphics and age-appropriate content keep students engaged while they learn.
Students work independently in the same way as they with Reading Laboratories.
The programme is ideally suited to
work as a supplement to an ongoing
science programme as a means of
reviewing and reinforcing core science
content and vocabulary.
Each Science Laboratory covers core
content at two reading levels. The
‘A’ Science Cards are written below
reading age level and the ‘B’ Science
Cards are written at reading age level.
Students pursue A or B assignments to
master the content in the areas of:
• Life Science
• Earth Science
• Physical Science

Assessment is core to the programme. Students begin the programme by taking a pre-test to identify their level of comprehension of science content and related vocabulary words. The results of the pre-test help assign students to the level at which they should begin.
Along the way, students record and check their own answers and take post-tests to assess their progress.
